Ferdinand “Fred” Sergius Sechanski, age 79 of Canadian Lakes passed away September 28, 2018 at his home. A Memorial Mass will be held October 13, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at St. Michael Catholic Church-Chapel, Remus with Father Tom Boufford as celebrant. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Fred was born December 20, 1938 in Pontiac, MI, the son of Ferdinand and Catherine Sechanski. He was a graduate of the University of Detroit and a Data Processing Supervisor in the Automotive Industry. Fred was a Veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Clarkston, MI, and a member of the American Legion. He loved to Golf and enjoyed bowling, but Tennis was his favorite sport. Fred was quiet with a nice smile, and he was a gardener and a very good cook. He was described as having a passion for friends, sharing his home grown veggies and homemade “goodies” with them. Fred will be greatly missed by his friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Catherine.
