Glenda Jean Russell

Glenda Jean Russell, our loving mother, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her home surrounded by family, at the age of 67. A funeral ceremony will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, with Pastors Lyle Ball and Joe Cottle officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and again on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to the time of service at 11:00AM. Glenda was born November 27, 1949 in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Glenn and Dottie (Palmer) Wood. She dedicated her life to family, raising six children and caring for her late husband Paul before his passing in 2011. She enjoyed baking and sewing and was always actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren. Whether it was a football game, wrestling meet, horse show, or just baking in the kitchen, Glenda was always with her grandchildren. Although she could be stubborn at times, her loving and caring nature will be greatly missed by many. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Dottie Wood; six children, Jerry (Mary) Russell, Joe Russell, Janeen (Ron) Cole, Jeannie (Josh) Moomey, Jason Russell, and Janet (John) Snider; three siblings, Greg Wood, Sharon Rama, and Rod Wood; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
