age 51, of Remus, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on October 17, 2013. A Funeral Mass for Marsha will be held on Monday, October 21 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Remus with Father Arron Ferris, celebrant. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Michael’s Church on Sunday, October 20 from 4 – 8 pm with Rosary at 7 pm . Marsha was born October 10, 1962 to Francis and Helen (Snider) Simon of Remus. Marsha is survived by her husband, Don Wernette; her children, Elaina Simon (Jeremiah Walch), Anna (Shaun) Caldwell, Amanda Howard, Denny Howard Jr. and Casey Howard; step-children, Ethan Wernette and Nicole Embrey. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, Trevor, Mariah, Ashley, Cecilia, Alisha, Gaven, Kayleigh and Logan. She also leaves behind her mother, Helen Simon and in-laws, Jack and Irene Wernette of Remus; her five brothers, Michael (Beth) Simon, Mark (Jo) Simon, Ronald (Nila) Simon, Donald Simon, Bradley (Julie) Simon, Ben (Gwen) Simon; three sisters, Mary (Brian) Straus, Jodi (Virgil) Robbins, Deanna Flowers; brother-in-law, Ron (Brenda) Wernette; sister-in-law, Tami (Ray) Welling. Sadly, Marsha was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Alicia; brother, Christopher; and father, Francis Simon. Marsha was a 1980 graduate from Chippewa Hills High School. She was a fixture behind the grill at Helen’s Restaurant for many years where she enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was famous among Remus residents for her wonderful meals, especially her omelets. Marsha’s family will always remember her infectious laughter, bold spirit and devotion. Those desiring to make contributions in Marsha’s name may direct them to the family, envelopes will be available at church.
