    William "Bill" Seeley

    September 9, 1930 - May 8, 2022

In the comfort of his home with family, William D. Seeley slipped away peacefully into Eternal rest on May 8, 2022. Bill was born to John and Beulah (Olney) Seeley on September 9, 1930. It was on a double date that Bill met the love of his life, A. Jayne Ardis. They married on October 24, 1953, and together their family grew to include 7 children. Bill and Jayne made an incredible team, and they provided a uniquely strong foundation for each of their children. Bill affirmed his love for each child by taking particular interest in helping them develop and grow as individuals. Additionally, he had a kind and endearing way of letting them know and understand how fortunate in life they were – to be grateful and to not take things for granted. Bill had a quick sense of humor. He was rarely without a smile on his face, a glint in his eye, and a funny retort! He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time with family and friends hunting, fishing, and golfing. Bill was humble – never flashy or loud, and he was loyal and steadfast – always quick to offer a helping hand or sound advice. He enjoyed a long career in sales, and he was a generous mentor – always sharing his knowledge and expertise about good business practices. He lived his faith by being kind and respectful to others, and he gave back to his community through many years of volunteer work at St. Michael’s Parish. He was a strong advocate of education, and he was especially disciplined about expanding his wealth of knowledge. He was a lifelong learner and read constantly (and thoroughly) to keep up with local, national, and world events. Bill lived for the love of his canine companions, and he always held out hope for winning seasons for his beloved Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverine football team! Preceding Bill into Eternal rest are his parents; brothers Glenn and George Seeley, Sister’s-in-law Patricia and Eleanor Seeley; Beloved daughter Ann (Seeley) Baumann and daughter-in-law, Lisa (Lamm) Seeley. Left to carry on his memory are his wife of 68 years, Jayne; children Terry (Carrie) Seeley, Peggy (Jay) Smith, Tom Seeley, Jim Seeley, Beth Helgeson, Kathleen (Patrick) Vondette, and son-in-law Tim Baumann; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren in addition to several nieces and nephews who were particularly fond of their ‘Uncle Bill’. A mass at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church will be held Thursday, May 26 at 11am with Father Tom Boufford as celebrant. Family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service, and a luncheon will be held in the Parish Hall after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Saint Michael’s School Foundation. https://www.osvhub.com/stmichaelsremus/giving/funds Click on picture of church.
