William F. DuBois
July 28, 2017
William F. “Doc” DuBois II, MD, 65, of Canadian Lakes, ended his yearlong battle with cancer and passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 28, 2017 at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. Friends & family are invited to visit and pay their respects on Friday, August 4th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Janowicz Family Funeral Home, 469 West Wheatland, Remus, MI. In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated. There will be no formal service. Doc was born in Grand Rapids, MI to William & Wilma DuBois in 1952. He graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School, Calvin College, and Wayne State University Medical School. He did his Residency at Midland Hospital Center. His lifelong dream, literally from childhood, was to build a medical practice in a rural area without good access to medical care. This dream became Eastside Family Medical. He had a strong desire that people not think him to be a miser, and it showed. He also committed many acts of generosity that most people never heard about. Many who knew him well would tell you that, since his diagnosis, his values were moving away from material things in the direction of more lasting personal & spiritual things. Throughout his final hospital stay his greatest concern was not for himself, but that his patients, staff, and other loved ones would be cared for in his absence. His impact on the community will be remembered by many and his presence missed. William is survived by his soul mate Sheila, daughters Mary Jo and CJ (Crystal Jo), son Jonathan, several grandchildren, four siblings, a large extended family, too many dear friends to count, and one dearly loved dog, “Tee-Tee”. He was predeceased by his father, William Sr. in 2002, and his mother Wilma in 2016. The family would be truly grateful if, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be made to his favorite charity of many years, Eagle Village ( www.eaglevillage.org ). Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home or online at JanowiczFamilyFuneralHome.com. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” -Jesus Christ. John 13:35 A Real Reason for Hope 3 Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death, he has given us new life and a hope that lives on. 4 God has something stored up for you in heaven, where it will never decay or be ruined or disappear. 5 You have faith in God, whose power will protect you until the last day.[b]Then he will save you, just as he has always planned to do. 6 On that day you will be glad, even if you have to go through many hard trials for a while. 7 Your faith will be like gold that has been tested in a fire. And these trials will prove that your faith is worth much more than gold that can be destroyed. They will show that you will be given praise and honor and glory when Jesus Christ returns. 8 You have never seen Jesus, and you don’t see him now. But still you love him and have faith in him, and no words can tell how glad and happy 9 you are to be saved. That’s why you have faith. I Peter 1:3-9, Contemporary English Version For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
