My condolences to Chuck's family. He was a special person, always smiling and helpful. I worked with him 11 years of his banking career. I was going through some tough times in my 1st marriage. He saw to it to bring things to my attention to get out of a harmful relationship and not let it continue. He and Sharon bought my property where they built their new life together. I will always be grateful to Chuck for his honesty and wise words.
I have too many to share just one but.. my favorite one is a toss up between the time we were doing a craft in school and we were about 3rd or 4th grade and it was Christmas time and we had to braid some yarn with cinnamon sticks and stuff like this to make a smell good ornament and he asked us if we were French braiding like he was all in the know about such things hahaha… Or maybe the time in the restaurant where he was beaming so proud of yet another beautiful grandson and he asked me if I had met his latest grandson yet as he was pulling out a picture.. I said oh Chuck he is beautiful and he said he’s Amish… those are just some of the best things he would say without even realizing he was saying anything.. I alive all of the Wernette family so very much. The one true hero of the family is always the one who gives you the best love and memories to cherish. Chuck has done a wonderful service for us all! Prayers for your journey in this new world with him as an angel!
Chuck called me on my birthday every year to kid me about how much older I was than him. (About 3 months!). And to sing the birthday song to me. He was a great guy. I will be forever grateful to him for the way he took care of my sister for so many years.
