Losing a friend that you have known since school years is a gut punch. I don't think that I have ever had a better friend. As friends, we sometimes say things outloud to each other that we may not say anywhere else. Jan was that type of friend. Trustworthy, kind, loving and dependable.
Ashleigh often makes the comment that she was Grandma's favorite. Well, she is ABSOLUTLY right, along with Dan, Chris, Kaylee, and Blace. Jan's most favored people were her family. We would sit for many hours and she would talk about her love and concern for her family. I have teased the family that they had better be nice to me because I had the dirt on each of them. In all honesty, my take away from our conversations has always been Jan's undying love for her favored people.
I remember a conversation sitting on my back deck with Jan. To preface this, I must say that I tease Dan about his grunt and point. Dan, had a habit of grunting and pointing and Jan would instantly know what he needed and would jump to the cause. Well, I said to Jan one day "God forbid Jan, that you should go before Dan, He will be lost without you." Her reply was "I do it because I love him, I take care of him because I don't want to live without him." Simple as that people, LOVE.
Jan and I both believe in the Great Awakening, and a great revival of the world. We were partners in the cause to do our small part to save the world. The plan was that when the time came that we were going to party like rock stars and celebrate. How funny, the day that Jan passed, my husband and I visited with the family. Upon our return home, two lovely ladies were at our front door wanting signatures to recall members of the Mt. Pleasant school board and to fight against mask mandates and critcal race theory. Needless to say, I signed the petition and attended their meeting that night. Coincidence? I think not. Jan did not die, she just moved. She is still there with me on our mission.
We will all meet at our heavenly woodshed someday and I don't think Jan had much to be fearful of. In my humble opinion, to honor Jan's memory, we should all get right with God, and continue to pray for that world revival. (John 3:16)
Prayers to Jan's family and to her siblings who have lost so much within the last couple of weeks.
You will be deeply missed my dear friend, rest in the eternal peace.
Oh my God I'm so sorry to hear that God took a lovely lady. I didn't work with her personally, but I knew who well along with Betsie Todd. So sorry for the loss of the family & grandkids. Tish
