Tom was like another father to me anything i needed he was there even if i just needed somebody to talk to. tom and sue are family to me they treated me as if i was just another one of the kids i remember one day i broke the window out of his truck doing wood i thought for sure he was going to rip me a new one but he just looked at me and said lets get back to work can"t do noting about it now when things like that happen to me now that's what i say to myself. Tom and sue had a lot to do with the way i am today. Tom loved to hunt and fish he was the one that got me into archery tom was a great man he would give anybody in need the shirt of his back and he will be greatly missed i know he's up there chasing that monster buck and eating doritos

This message is from Jerry and Karen Crampton, Tom's and Sue's friends in Marshall, Michigan. We are the new "city" folks joining the community at Shooltz Landing just this year. After camping there since a boy, my wife and I started enjoying what Tom and Sue had, as we both began planning our retirement. Tom always told me I was welcome year around, and fulfilled my wishes to enjoy what he had for so many years. We are new to the area, and now we have a camper and boat thanks to Tom. I'll miss him totally, and will try to be a great resident there he hoped for me, guaranteed.
Although a "city" boy, I still loved the outdoors that Boom Lake and the Shooltz' offered me. Like Tom, we talked about the great Michigan adventures, Hunting, fishing and boating with family. He explained "it's all here". He convinced me and just now I've lost my best friend at Boom Lake.
To me and my wife, our memories will be of Tom, always enjoying his youngsters and family, as we all move forward without him. To me, Tom Shooltz is a symbol of "Pure Michigan". Thank You Tom.
My deepest sympathy to Sue, Vicki and the rest of the Shooltz family. Also the family from Germany, that Tom always talked to me about.

I remember Homecoming Spirit Week one year when Tom dressed up as a woman! I can still see him in my mind wearing that Burgandy dress with flowers all over it!! Still makes me smile, like Tom always did! :) Prayers for peace and comfort go out to the family and close friends!

Tom was a great man and an awesome neighbor he watched out for my son and made sure to talk to me and Nicolas every time he seen us made us feel as if we were part of the family. He is missed by many.
