Ada J. Stowers' Obituary
Big Rapids Ada J. Stowers, 87, of Big Rapids, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Mecosta County Medical Center in Big Rapids. She was born November 18, 1920, in Lincoln County, WV, the daughter of Willard and Ella (Pauley) Harless. On July 13, 1939, she married Niles Dwayne Stowers, who preceded her in death in 1977. Surviving are 1 son, Barry (Carol) Stowers of Big Rapids; 3 grand children; David (Lisa), Paul (Lisa), Rebecca (Micah) Painters; 10 great grandchildren; Kiara, Evan, Bree, Elisha, Sophia, Jonathon, Leslie, Micah Jr., Marah, Maleah; 1 niece; Pauline (Carl) Hodge of Griffithsville, WV and other nieces and nephews. Ada was also preceded in death by a son Larry Stowers, 2 brothers; Woody (Gladys) Harless, and Roma (Rudy) Harless and 3 sisters; Dena (Walter) Benton, Zena (Raymond) McClure, and Annie (Homer) Macmellon. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2008, at the Liberty Baptist Church in Reed City, with Pastor David Stanski officiating. Burial will take place next week in the Sand Fork Cemetery near Griffithsville, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to Sand Fork Baptist Church or Slippery Rock Baptist Church. Adas family will greet friends today (Friday) from 5-8 p.m. at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, and at the church prior to services on Saturday.
