Agustina Peralez's Obituary
Edmore-Agustina Peralez, age 91, of Edmore, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Metron of Greenville with her family by her side. Agustina was born in Donna, Texas, the daughter of Mauricio Cantu and Angelita Cantu de Quintero. She was raised in Donna, Texas where she met Jose Peralez and they were married in May of 1944 in Donna on the family farm. They had 12 children who were very loved. Jose and Agustina moved to Edmore in 1968 where Agustina was a homemaker for many years then went on to work at Ore Ida, Gibson's and HiQ for a combination of 20 years. Agustina enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, crocheting, singing, and her pets, especially her little dog Muffin. Mostly she loved nurturing her grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally.
Agustina is survived by her children: Aurora Romero, Adelina Flores, San Juana (Juan) Salazar, Yolanda (Maurilio) Arellano, Gloria Zainudin, Jose Peralez, Omar (Kim Nichols) Peralez, Esmeralda Jensen, Lydia Williams and Cintia (Joe) Stimac; 29 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great grandchildren and two great-great-great grandchildren; siblings, Mauricio Cantu, Roy Cantu, Martina Alegria, Juanita Garza, and Maria Morales.
Agustina is proceeded in death by her husband, Jose Peralez; her parents, Mauricio and Angelita Cantu; children, Amelia Luna, and Velma Bannen; grandchildren, Linda Luna, Wesley Davis, and Sutan Zulishan Zuirman; siblings, Pedro Cantu and Aurora Cantu.
A funeral service for Agustina will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church in Edmore with Father Dominic Tirkey officiating. The family will greet visitors at 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Mid Michigan.
