Alfred "Al" Allen Keeler's Obituary
Alfred "Al" Allen Keeler age 93 passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Stone Lodge Senior Living Center, Shepherd, MI. Al was born June 29, 1923 in Edmore, Michigan the son of Dewey and Gretchen (Long) Keeler. He was raised and lived in the Edmore, Vestaburg areas much of his life except the years he ministered in Alanson, Mi and Belize (Central America). Al proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Sheridan VFW, Pentecostal Church of God Organization and Anchor Bay Church. Al enjoyed working on small engines, gardening, hunting and fishing. Al also enjoyed humorous teasing, playing games such as Checkers, horseshoes and Bible trivia. Al never met a stranger; he enjoyed spreading the word of God. He had a unwavering love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Al was united in marriage to Dorothy Byrnes in 1946 in Goshen, IN; she preceded him in death in 1981. He then was united in marriage to the former Ula Carrick on June 15, 1984 in St. John, Michigan.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Ula, children; Linda (Jerry) Kilmer of Vestaburg, MI, Don (Faith) Keeler of Sun City West, AZ, Stan (Valorie) Keeler of Tucson, AZ and Mark (Cheryl) Keeler of Byron Center, step-children; Cheryl DeForest of Elwell, MI, Mike (Rachel) Nokes of Stanton, MI and Carson (Patti) Nokes of Banister, MI, 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 19 step-great-grandchildren, brother and sisters; Merton Keeler of Edmore, Ernestine (Don) Wolf of Vestaburg, Larry (Ione) Keeler of Riverdale and Steve (Sandy) Keeler of Vestaburg and several nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, brother, Raymond Keeler, sisters, Betty Thompson and Donna June and step-daughter, Mary Ann Nokes,.
Celebration of Life Service for Al will take place Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM from Cornerstone Worship Center, Vestaburg, MI with Pastor Don Wolf and Rev. Richard McLane to officiate the service. Visitation to take place Monday, November 21, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM from the Brigham Funeral Chapel-Vestaburg and again Tuesday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Private interment to take place in Richland Township Cemetery. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider Stone Lodge Senior Living Center or Cornerstone Worship Center.
