Alice Belle Lance's Obituary
age 101, of Belding, formerly of Lakeview, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Metron of Belding. Alice was born May 26, 1913 in Lakeview, the daughter of Clarence and Minnie Lickert Field. Alice traveled with her parents and grew up all over as her father was a Lumberman. Alice graduated from McBride in 1931.
Alice married the love of her life, Kenneth Lance on June 13, 1931 in Greenville. They settled in McBride to raise their family. Kenneth preceded her in death in 1975. She enjoyed crochet, house work, and babysitting. Alice was employed by the drug store and dime store Moblo's in Lakeview, as a waitress at Ellafrits Restaurant, and as a clerk for a Dry Cleaners.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lance; parents Clarence and Minnie Field; three sisters Hazel Sheppard, Cornelia and Sylvia Field; and two brothers Ralph and Glenn Field; and two sister-in-laws Dorothy and Ruth Field.
Alice will be deeply missed by two daughters Donna Olsen of Lakeview, and Helen (Donald) Mason of Belding; three granddaughters Judy Beaver of Escanaba, Pamela Lenon of Remus, and Debbie Gay of Greenville; one grandson Steve Mason of Belding one brother Earl Field of St. Louis, MI; seven great- grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Alice will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at New Life United Methodist Church in Six Lakes with Pastor Dave England officiating. Visitation will one hour prior to the service from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. A luncheon will be at New Life United Methodist Church following the committal service. Memorial Contributions in Alice's memory may be made to Metron of Belding.
