Alice "Joyce" Eberhard's Obituary
Lakeview-Alice "Joyce" Eberhard, age 95, of Lakeview passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born on November 1, 1929, in Ontonagon, Michigan, the daughter of Allan and Mayme (Store) Daniels. Joyce graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1948. Joyce met the love of her life, George "Leland" Eberhard, the day she stood up at her sister Kay's wedding to Leland's brother, Wayne Eberhard. Eight months later on April 25, 1953, they were married in Lansing, Michigan. The Eberhard brothers married the Daniels sisters - thus began the Eber-"herd" as the family is fondly known. After marriage, Joyce happily took on the role of homemaker and mother to her 6 children. She enjoyed feeding her large family and was well-known as a very good cook. Joyce took great pleasure in gardening and canning food for the family as well as tending to her beautiful flower gardens which were a constant source of beauty at her homes. She also enjoyed birdwatching, camping, playing board games, singing and golfing with Leland and the family She and Leland spent many afternoons on their pontoon boat that to this day is enjoyed by their children and grandchildren.Joyce was a longtime member of the Howard City congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and had been a dedicated servant of her God Jehovah for over 72 years. In addition to spending time with her family, Joyce was a zealous Bible teacher and was very active in sharing the Bible's message and studying the Bible with anyone who had a thirst for truth..Joyce will be greatly missed by her family as well as very large "spiritual" family. She is survived by her children, Dean (Anita) Eberhard of Cheboygan, Randall (Claudia) Eberhard of St. Johns, Annette (Michael) Hornbeck of Lakeview, Penny (Roger) Hueber of Belmont, NH, Teresa (Alex) Rinckey of Greenville, Bethany (Jeffrey) Hunt of Perry, GA; 15 grandchildren, Jeremy, Brett, Jessica, DeAnna, Ashley, Connor, Cailin, Christopher, Daniel, Aaron, Andrew, Nathaniel, Alissa, Emily, Aubrey; 18 great-grandchildren, Marcus, RayeAnn, Austin, Tony, Jacob, Natasha, Ethan, Bradley, Jayden, Adin, Evan, Eli, Aasia, Chandler, Natalie, Blake, Finnegan, Marley; 1 great-great-grandson, Olson "aka-Sonny"; special nieces and nephews, Kimber, Michelle, Eliot, JD; one special cousin and friend, Robert Fennell, and many other nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Eberhard in 2018; parents, Allan and Mayme; and all 11 of her siblings.A memorial visitation in Joyce's honor will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview.
