Altona Naomi Cross' Obituary
Lakeview - Altona Naomi (Jensen) Cross, age 90, of Stanton passed away at Green Acres in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in McBride on April 26, 1933, the daughter of Alton and Beaulah Jensen. Altona was raised in Sidney before moving to the Lakeview area where she graduated from Lakeview High School with the Class of 1951. On February 2, 1952, she married Robert "Bob" Cross at the Edmore Lutheran Church. Altona was a home maker before finding employment as a receptionist at the Lakeview Medical Center for 27 years, retiring in 1995. In their younger years she and Bob loved to travel, making trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Nova Scotia and Panama. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Lakeview and enjoyed bowling, golfing and spending winters in Florida. Altona will be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind heart and always being a true lady.Altona is survived by her son, David (Janet) Cross of Stanton; daughter, Lori DeForest of Blanchard; grandchildren, Brian (Nicole) Cross, Derek (Ashleigh Dalstra) Cross; 5 great-grandchildren, Kypton, Hailey, Madison, Ryann, Lily; and a sister-in-law, Shelia Smith.She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Cross in October of 2022; son-in-law, Steve DeForest; parents, Alton and Beaulah; and a brother, Preston Jensen.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview. The family will greet friends for visitation from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Entrican.Those wishing to donate in Altona's memory are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association.
