Anne Virginia McMillan's Obituary
Anne Virginia McMillan, age 80, of Stanwood, MI, formerly of Lake Orion and Rochester, MI, passed away peacefully at her home on September 2, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:30 am at the Chapel of the Lakes Church with Pastor Paul Schneider officiating.
Anne was born on April 18, 1934 in Rochester, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth Zollner. She graduated from Rochester High School (Falcons) in 1952. On February 19, 1955, she married Alan McMillan, Jr. , together they raised five children.
Anne was a beloved wonderful wife, `best friend and mother. She took care of her family unconditionally until the youngest child was in high school. This is when Anne decided she would like to work outside of the home and was employed by Guest House in Lake Orion for ten years. When she and Alan (Buz) retired, they resided full time in Canadian Lakes, MI. Anne taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, crochet, long walks and people watching. Her family loved her for all she was and all she gave.
Anne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alan (Buz); sons and daughters-in-law, Mark (Joan)of Lake Orion, MI, and Paul (Lee Ann) of River Falls, WI; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice (Peter) Lenkens of Holly, MI and Joanne (Greg) Bowman of Elmira, MI; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Mark Jr., Melissa, Shannon, Trevor, Brittany Brooke, Crystal and Nadine and seven great-grandchildren, Reagan, Carter, Connor, Collin, Savannah, Scarlett and Stella.
She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved daughter, Cindy McMillan in 1960.
