Annie Mae Harris' Obituary
Annie Harris, age 81, of Six Lakes, passed away on January 17, 2026, at home, with her devoted husband by her side. Annie Mae Bigler was born on May 29, 1944, in Greenville, to Basil and Lena Bigler. She grew up in Lakeview and graduated from Lakeview High School with the class of 1963.
Annie worked for Vaughn’s in Greenville and later at Wolverine Worldwide for about 23 years. Shirley, her sister, would introduce her to Larry Harris, the man who became her husband. Annie married Larry in 1964 and together they raised two wonderful children. In her later years, when she became a grandmother and great-grandmother, Annie also helped take care of those babies who were very special to her. She was also known for her excellent cooking, especially her meatloaf and holiday pies, which were loved by everyone, including the family’s beloved coon dog, Jack. Annie also enjoyed yard sales, word searches, camping, and attending church with her friend Mary in Entrican.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Laura Lynn Harris, an infant granddaughter, Gracie Harris, a sister Joan Collins, and her brothers Mike and Terry Bigler.
Annie is survived and missed by her husband, Larry Harris; her children, Larry Harris Jr. of Lakeview, and Sherry (Tom) Crater of Howard City; her grandchildren, Tommy Crater, Christopher (Lisa) Crater, Nathan Crater, Wendy Harris, Kayla Harris, and Lukas Harris; and her great-grandchildren, Maya, Timothy, Tanner, Christopher II, Henry, and Nathan Jr. One sister, Shirley Whitten of Lakeview, several nieces and nephews, extended family members, and childhood friends Mary and her husband Phil Hansen of Lakeview also survive Annie.
A funeral service for Annie will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Lakeview. The service will begin at noon, with family greeting guests starting at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute may help cover funeral expenses.
