Ardeth Elaine Bennett's Obituary
Ardeth Elaine Bennett, age 84, of Stanton, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2016 at Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital Long Term Care. She was born August 27, 1931 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Gerald and Margarite (Moore) Thompson. Ardeth was raised in the Greenville and Turk Lake area, graduated from Greenville High School. Ardeth was employed as an assembler for Federal Mogul, Hi-Q, and Ore Ida. She married the love of her life of 56 years, Lyle Bennett on June 7, 1960 in Mt. Pleasant. Ardeth enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, baking, animals, and singing. She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Ardeth will be deeply missed by her husband Lyle Bennett of Stanton; four children Pat McCracken (John Driscoll) of Sparta, Penny Christensen of Stanton, Pam (William) Arnold of Greenville, Shelly Bennett (Roy Brisbin) of Stanton; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four sisters Geraldine Richards of Turk Lake, Louise Drain of Lakeview, Vonda Rasmussen of Lakeview, and Judy Taylor of Lakeview; three brother-in-laws Richard "Nick" Nicholson of Fenwick, Barry (Chris) Bennett of Vestaburg, Dave (Donna) Bennett of Montana; one sister-in-law Vicki (Roy) Cooper of Houghton Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
Ardeth was preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Margarite Thompson; parents-in-law Nadawis "Dot" Lameraux and George Bennett; one granddaughter Jill Christensen; one brother Gerald "Butch" Thompson, and her sister Chris Nicholson; one sister-in-law Ruth Thompson; and two brother-in-laws Gary Rasmussen, and Elvin "Abe" Richards.
A celebration of Ardeths life will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview, Michigan with visitation one hour prior starting at 12 noon. A luncheon will be held in the Brigham Banquette Room following the service. All who wish to contribute in Ardeths memory are asked to consider the Montcalm County Animal Shelter.
