Arlene Joyce Oberlin's Obituary
Lakeview- Arlene Joyce Oberlin, age 86, of Millbrook Township, passed away on September 29, 2019 at Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant. She was born on September 13, 1933 in Blanchard, the daughter of Glen and Ella (Hewlett) Eldred. She was raised in the Blanchard area and attended Lee School and Remus School graduating in 1951. Arlene married the love of her life, Glenn Oberlin on August 8, 1951 in Blanchard at her parent's home. She was employed as a nurse for many years. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, gardening, traveling, and spending winters with her husband in Tucson, Arizona. She was a member of New Life United Methodist Church.
Arlene is survived by her children: Linda (Ronald) Ruble, Luann (Albert) Eldridge, Curtis Oberlin, Eric Oberlin, and Jon (Rhonda) Oberlin; grandchildren Jessica (Trevor) Turner, Justin (Melodie) Eldridge, Dominic Eldridge, Jeremy (Jennifer) Ruble, Sarah (Eric) Brozek, Amy Oberlin, Joshua (Beth) Oberlin, Jordan (Jessica) Oberlin, Jake Oberlin, and Joe Oberlin; ten great grandchildren; siblings Rev. Eldon Eldred (Rhea), Vera Helms; and sister-in-law Jane Eldred.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Oberlin; her parents Glen and Ella Eldred; brother Lavern Eldred; and brother-in-law Lynn Helms.
A funeral service for Arlene will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Brigham
Funeral Chapel Lakeview with Rev. Eldon Eldred officiating. The family will greet friends at 3:00 PM until the start of the service. All are invited to a luncheon in the banquet room of the funeral home following the service. Gifts in Arlene's memory may be given to New Life United Methodist Women.
