Audrey J. Dyer's Obituary
Edmore- Audrey J. Dyer, age 91, of McBride passed away at Laurels of Carson City on Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was born at home in McBride to Octa Magnus and Ethel Gertrude (Johnston) Mortensen on June 23, 1929. She attended Vestaburg School when it was a one room schoolhouse. Audrey was married to Ivan J. Dyer on August 16, 1947 in McBride, Michigan. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening (working in her flower beds), sewing (making her children's clothes, and wedding dresses), and canning. But most of all, Audrey enjoyed being a mother and grandmother. She was a member of the McBride Church of Christ for many years.
Audrey is survived by her children, Brian (Michele) Dyer of Okemos, Barry (Carol) Dyer of Greenville, Blair (Joy) Dyer of Pickford, Susan (Stewart) Stratton of McBride, Debra Danner of Alto, and Tracey Dyer of McBride; 23 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Gale (Gerald) Hockstra of Rockford; many nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; her parents, Octa and Ethel; son, Bruce Dyer; and grandson Jason Smit.
A funeral service will be held for Audrey on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore at 1:00 pm with Pastor Steve Dobbins officiating. The family will greet friends from 11:00am till the time of service.
We are asking all to bring and wear a mask. Hand sanitizer will be provided by the guestbook.
