Audrey Louks' Obituary
Big Rapids Audrey L. Louks, 90, of Reed City, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born November, 23, 1918, in Reed City, the daughter of Herbert and Lydia (Kaufield) Kienitz, and lived in Reed City most of her life. For over 20 years, Audrey worked for Wolverine World Wide in Reed City. She was also a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reed City, and a member of the Reed City Garden Club. Audrey enjoyed playing cards and loved to bake, sharing her gifts generously with others. On January 18, 1941, Audrey married Max Louks, who preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving are 1 daughter, Janice Westenfeld of Belmont; 2 sons, Allen and his wife Chris of Portage, and Darrell and his partner Brad Pierucki of Reed City; 4 grandchildren, Lori (Bernie) Marvin, Cheryl Westenfeld, Michael and Mary Louks; 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Troy Truxton; 1 brother, Albert Kienitz of Chase; and many nieces and nephews. Audrey was preceded in death by sisters Esther and Melva, and brothers Millard and Veldey. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reed City, with Rev. Dean Davenport officiating. Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery in Ashton. Audreys family will greet friends at the church today (Tuesday), April 14, from 4-7 p.m., and after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions for Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of choice may be left at the church, or in care of the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, where arrangements were entrusted.
