Barbara A. Buffin's Obituary
Big Rapids- Barbara A. Buffin, 64, of Grant Center, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at her residence. She was born October 13, 1949, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Dorlin and Mary Jane (Bustraan) Buffin, and lived in the area her entire life. Barbara graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1967. For over 30 years, Barb worked for the Big Rapids Public Schools as a bus driver, custodian, and more recently as a secretary. She attended the Grant Center United Methodist Church, and loved to garden, cross-stitch, and crochet. Barb always put the needs of others first, and was loved by all. Surviving are one daughter, Anissa J. Buffin of Lapeer; one son, Spencer Dale Buffin of Big Rapids; a granddaughter Samantha Lynn Buffin; three sisters, Joyce (Andy) Womack of Paris, Jolene (Rodney) Swiger of Evart, Dena (Brian) Freiberg of Big Rapids; one brother John Buffin of Hesperia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jim. A celebration of Barbara's life will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the Grant Township Hall, located at 150th Ave. and 21 Mile Road in Grant Township. Interment will be in the Grant Center Cemetery.
