Barbara Jane (Nelson) Ross' Obituary
Barbara Jane Ross (Nelson), age 90 was born August 27, 1924 in Blanchard, Michigan. She passed away on January 8, 2015 at Spectrum Health - Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was the daughter of Bert and Anna Marie (Madison) Nelson who both have preceded her in death. Also, preceding her in death is her husband Jack, of 66 years, a daughter, Marsha Ross and a great granddaughter, Taryn Murphy.
Barbara is survived by her children: Jacqueline (Randy) Hansen of Reed City, Mary Ann (Wesley) Morris of Houghton Lake and James Ross of Grand Ledge; 5 grandchildren: Michelle (Joe) Murphy of Midland, Chad (Heidi) Hansen of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Jeffery (Teri) Price of Belding, Ryan (Tracy) Hansen and Monty (Tara) Price all of Reed City; 11 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Lenora Nelson of Blanchard and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a long-time member of the Edmore Eastern Stars and spent many years as their pianist. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a seamstress to many. Other hobbies included canning, ceramics; jig saw puzzles, cards with family, including great grandchildren. Since retiring, from the family owned Ross Restaurant, Jack and Barbara spent most of their summers at their cottage on Clear Lake near West Branch, spending good family time making memories that will never be forgotten, Grandma B was special.
Please come to share memories with the family at a memorial visitation scheduled for Monday, January 12, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Brigham Funeral Chapel, 413 East Gilson Street, Edmore.
