Beatrice Ilah Vera's Obituary
Beatrice Ilah Vera, 87, went home to her Lord on February 15, 2022, surrounded by several family members. She was born on October 24, 1934, in Stanwood, Michigan, the daughter of LeRoy and Margaret Swartwood. On August 22, 1956, Beatrice married Merced Salinas Vera and ultimately, they settled in Lakeview, Michigan. She spent most of her life taking care of her family and caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading the bible, taking pictures of her family, gardening, the beauty of flowers, Hallmark movies, and listening to the Bee Gee's. Beatrice is survived by her children Janet (Joe) Noorthoeck, Rene Michael Vera, Elmer Joe Vera, Greg (Kelly) Vera, Alice (Ron) McKenna. She has seven surviving grandchildren Angela Dickman, Gigi (John) Mananasala, Jelean Vera, Marissa (John) Vera, Bethany (Andrew) Haynes, Anissa Stebbins, and Kaley (Shawn) McKenna. She is survived by 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Beatrice is survived by her siblings Esther Schultz, Mary Snyder, Janice (Michael) Creighton, and Sandy Golden. She was preceded in death by her spouse Merced Salinas Vera, loving daughter Cheryl Lynn Vera, treasured grandson Jarron Michael Vera, grandson-in-law Nicholas Galdeen, parents LeRoy and Margaret Swartwood, sister Delores Waller, and brother's Lawrence and Elmer Swartwood. A celebration of life will be announced later to honor and reflect the lives of Beatrice and her loving husband, Merced, and the years they shared together. A special thank you to the Spectrum Health Hospice team and those who supported the family in their time of need.
