Ben H. Weaver's Obituary
Stanwood Ben H. Weaver, 80, of Stanwood, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008, at his residence. He was born June 15, 1927, in Holmes County, Ohio, the son of Harry and Melinda (Kaufman) Weaver, and moved to Stanwood in 1992. A member of the Old-Order Amish, Ben was a carpenter and woodworking craftsman. He was preceded in death by his first wife Rachel Miller in 1974. On February 5, 1976, he married Amanda Nisley, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Uriah (Mattie) and Emanuel (Clara), both of Stanwood; 25 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother Davis (Clara) Weaver; 4 sisters, Lydiann Miller, Mary (Uriah) Miller, Clara (Wayne) Gingerich, and Katie (Perry) Keim; 2 sisters-in-law, Katie and Fannie Weaver; and many nieces and nephews. Ben was preceded in death by an infant daughter Clara, 3 brothers, Eli, Monroe, and Emanuel, and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2008, at his residence at 14396 7 Mile Road, Stanwood, with burial to follow in the Ribble Cemetery in Stanwood. Bens family will greet friends at his home both today (Tuesday) and Wednesday. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
