Benjamin E. Nestle's Obituary
Benjamin E. Nestle born February 4, 1922 in Detroit, MI to his parents, Ben C. Nestle and Sarah Tow. He went to be with the Lord February 20, 2015 at his home with family at his side. He married the love of his life, Betty Jorgensen September 26, 1942 in Bryan, OH. Benjamin served in the United States Army Signal Corps under General Dwight Eisenhower in WWII. He was wounded in Canaan France and received the Purple Heart and an honorable medical discharge on February 4, 1945. He loved farm life. He was a Rural Mail Carrier out of Edmore for 30 years. He loved traveling, fishing and being with family. Benjamin was a faithful member of the Baptist Church since 1966. He and his wife spent many winters in FL. Benjamin was also a member of the VFW and life time member of the Free & Accepted Masons of Michigan, Lodge 360 in Edmore, MI.
Benjamin is survived by his loving wife of 72 years; Betty, his 2 children; Connie and husband Harry Schultz of Colorado Springs, CO and Ben C. and wife June Nestle of Riverdale, MI, 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister; Mabel and her husband Elmer Spach of Crystal, MI. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and 3 sisters.
A Celebration of Benjamin's Life Service will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 1:00 pm from the Brigham Funeral Chapel-Edmore with Pastor Harry Goldberg officiating. Burial will take place in McBride Cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm also from the Brigham Funeral Chapel-Edmore. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider Mid Michigan Hospice, Gideon's International, Grace Fellowship Baptist Church or a charity of your choosing.
