Bernard Robert Yanke's Obituary
Lakeview - Bernard Robert Yanke, age 93, of Big Rapids passed away at Metron of Big Rapids on December 17, 2018. He was born in Amble on November 20, 1925 the son of Dewey and Alice (Hanson) Yanke. Bernard was raised in the Amble area. He married Mildred (Goldman) Smith in 1957. Bernard worked as a logger and tree trimmer for Davey Tree Service and Asplundh for many years. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He loved to cut and stack wood.
Bernard is survived by his step children, Michael (Mary F) Smith and Angela (Jerry J) Quinlan; grandchildren, Jeffery (Lanie) Smith, Matthew (Elizabeth) Smith, Thomas (Denise) Quinlan, Kari Wilk, Joseph (Tracey) Quinlan, Kathleen (Matthew) Uphaus; 10 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Yanke, Jean Hill and Joann Rykert; and brothers Delbert, Clarence and Dewey "Lee" Yanke.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred in 1982; his parents Dewey and Alice Yanke; and his sisters, Beatrice Winger, Doris Jones and Jane Davis.
