Betty Marie Clevenger's Obituary
Betty M. (Christiansen) Clevenger, age 90, of Six Lakes (formerly of Stanton), passed away with family by her side on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Laurels of Carson City.
Betty was born May 19, 1928, in Stanton, the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Batten) Christiansen. She was raised in Stanton and graduated from Edmore High School with the class of 1946. Betty married Nile Clevenger on November 10, 1984, at Day Bethel Baptist Church. Betty was employed by Electrolux in Greenville for 17 years, and by the Union Telephone Company in Edmore for over 10 years.
Betty was a farm girl her whole life. She was raised on a farm and then became the wife of a farmer. She enjoyed puzzles, word searches, gardening, and going for walks. Betty loved making new friends and visiting old ones. Her main love was her family and spending time with them. She was a lifetime member of the Day Bethel Baptist Church.
Betty is survived in death by her children, Armon C Withey of Six Lakes, LaVern R Withey of Six Lakes, Karen (Carl) Etchart of Florida; step-children Sheila (David) Babcock of Caro, and Glenn Clevenger of Stanton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Melvin (Patricia) Christiansen of Livonia; two brothers-in-law, Rolland (Doris) Clevenger and Dale (Joyce) Clevenger, both of Stanton; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edna Christiansen; husband, Nile Clevenger; son, Randy Withey; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Withey; and siblings Olga Withey, Clara Dyer, Doris Outman, and Alvin Christiansen.
Funeral services for Betty will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at 1:00 pm at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore, MI with Pastor Eric Hagerman officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm and on Sunday one hour prior to the service - all at the funeral home. A Luncheon will immediately follow the service at Day Bethel Baptist Church. Those wishing to contribute in Betty's memory are asked to consider Day Bethel Church.
