Betty Jane Gilbert's Obituary
Betty Jane Gilbert age 84, passed away Friday evening, October 2, 2015 with family by her side. Betty was born January 14, 1931 in Six Lakes, Michigan the daughter of Fredrick and Ruth (Delamater) Eckert. Betty was united in marriage to Neil Luther Gilbert on January 22, 1949 in Six Lakes, Michigan.
Betty was a longtime member of the Bible Missionary Church, Six Lakes, Michigan. She enjoyed reading her bible, doing puzzles, bird watching, word searches and tending to her flower gardens. She really enjoyed baking; especially teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In Betty's earlier years she also enjoyed playing the organ. Most of all Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty will be dearly missed.
Betty is survived by her children; Karolynne Gilbert of Six Lakes, Raymond Gilbert of Six Lakes and Michael (Marge) Gilbert of Middletown, OH, grandchildren; Amanda (Ryan) Gilbert Tiffany of Freeport, and Megan (Donnie) Gilbert Massengill of Six Lakes, great-grandchildren; Jamie and Danielle Tiffany and Miley and Liam Massengill, brothers and sisters; Elmer Eckert, Gale (Roberta) Eckert, June (Lyle) Kimball, Lawrence Eckert, John (Alice) Eckert and Lloyd (Carol) Eckert. Besides her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband; Neil, son; Neil and brothers; George, James and Ron Eckert.
Funeral Service for Betty will take place Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Bible Missionary Church, Six Lakes with Pastor Roger McCassland and Rev. James Massengill to co-officiate. Interment will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Six Lakes, MI. Visitation will take place Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8PM from the Brigham Funeral Chapel-Six Lakes, MI and again Monday morning at the Bible Missionary Church from 9AM until the time of service. Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider Six Lakes Bible Missionary Church.
