Betty Lou Jedrey's Obituary
Betty Lou Jedrey, age 85, of Canadian Lakes, Michigan, passed away on April 21, 2026.
Born on November 17, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, to Frank and Eleanor Hardy, Betty was a woman of strength, faith, and unmistakable personality. She married the love of her life, George Jedrey, on October 11, 1968, in Miami, Florida. Together, they built a life rooted in love and laughter, spending time in both Florida and Michigan before eventually settling in the Detroit area. In 2018, Betty and George retired to Canadian Lakes, embracing a quieter, more peaceful chapter where they enjoyed many lovely neighbors in the Canadian Lakes community.
A lifelong Catholic and a deeply God-fearing woman, Betty carried her faith with her in all aspects of life. She was known for her toughness, her sharp wit, and for being the undeniable “boss” of the family. Betty had a vibrant sense of humor and loved to laugh, especially alongside George, with whom she shared a playful, teasing relationship with.
Above all, Betty cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was especially proud of the close bonds she maintained and was often lovingly referred to as the “favorite aunt” by her many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, George Jedrey; her son, Thomas Pinard; and 17 siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Michael) Dombrowski; her sister, Esther; her granddaughter, Lisa Mary (Christian) Ibarluzea; along with many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward with love.
