Beverly Lou Sengelaub's Obituary
Reed City – Beverly Sengelaub, 93, of Reed City, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024, in her home.
Beverly was born August 28, 1931, to Riley and Bertha (Thorpe) Kneale in Portland, MI. She graduated from Ionia High School and then attended Central Michigan University, majoring in elementary teaching. While attending CMU, she met her future husband of 70 years, Erwin Sengelaub, and they were married on November 11, 1951. They settled in the Reed City area, where they raised their family.
Prior to staying home to raise her three children, Beverly worked for the local telephone company and continued to work Richmond Township elections for many years. She attended classes at Ferris State University and was an active member of VFW Post #2964 Auxiliary. Beverly enjoyed cooking, watching figure skating, traveling, and listening to classical music. She was a faithful wife, a devoted mother, and a cherished grandmother.
Beverly is survived by her son Rollin Sengelaub; daughter Janalee (Gary) Graham; granddaughters Erin (Evan) Graham-Murray and Sarah Graham; several nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Bertha, her husband, Erwin, beloved son, Larry Sengelaub, her brother, Willam Kneale, and his wife, Irene. Also preceding her in death were her in-laws, Marjorie and Ervin Bluhm, Neomia Jean and Rollin Bubert, and Darell Sengelaub.
Beverly will be cremated and buried at the Woodland Cemetery in Reed City, next to her beloved husband and son. There will be no service, per her request. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to a charity of choice. Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Janowicz Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
