Blanche Virginia Perron's Obituary
Big Rapids - Blanche Virginia Perron, 96, of Big Rapids, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital.
She was born August 15, 1925, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Carl and Laura (Haglund) Peterson. Blanche graduated from Strandburg High School in 1943 as valedictorian of her class. She then attended Nettleton Commercial College in Sioux Falls, SD.
On August 24, 1954, she married Howard Perron, who preceded her in death in 2018. Blanche was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She was an avid skier, golfer, and a Red Cross volunteer for several years. After Howard retired, they enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her children, Colette Lott of Aurora, CO, Gayle Perron-Krawetz (Eric) of Lafayette, CO, Howard II (Roxanne) of Port Huron, Stuart (Joanne) of Morley, and Everett (Lenka) of St. Clair Shores; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandsons; her brother Carlton (Kay) Peterson of Richardson, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Blanche was also preceded in death by her grandsons Dan and Mike Freiberg, and her brother Kenneth Peterson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Jeff Lemire officiating. Blanche's family will greet friends beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery.
