Bobby Gene Simpson's Obituary
Bitely Bobby Gene Simpson, age 78, of Bitely, formerly of Detroit and St. Clair Shores passed away Monday August 15, 2011. He was born June 7, 1933 in Eldorado, Illinois, the son of Art and Bessie (Forrester) Simpson.After retirement, Bob and Grace, his wife of 54 years moved to the Bitely area where they had owned property for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. A tradition he enjoyed was having the hunters come over on opening day morning where he prepared breakfast for them. Bob is survived by his wife, one son; David (Georgia) Simpson of Baldwin, one daughter; Jackie (Jack) VanderMeulen of Twin Lake, five grandchildren; Madison, Merannda, Bryana, Jami and Joel (Jackie), four great grandchildren; Jaylynn, Dayton, Drew and Ella, four sisters; Kay, Colleen, Marlene, Jeanne, plus many cousins, nieces, nephews and special long time friends; Leroy and Laurie Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Raymond, Jim, Bill and Gary plus one sister, Lois. Funeral services for Bob will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor Doug Bennett officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
