Bonnie Sue Ruetz's Obituary
Ruetz, Bonnie Sue of Remus, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at McLaren hospital in Flint, of complications from a stroke. Cremation has taken place. She was born on August 11, 1935, only child of Harold and Irene (Bott) Fate. She graduated from Remus Consolidated School in 1952. She then attended Davenport College in Grand Rapids for a secretarial degree. Upon graduation she worked for an insurance agency in Grand Rapids, where she made lifelong friends who continued to meet at Christmas time for over 40 years. She walked each day to attend Mass at The Cathedral, as religion was a big part of her life. After a few years she returned to Remus and on September 28, 1957, married her life's partner, Robert Ruetz. She had a great love of animals. She rode horses, had a pet cow named Percy, and was known far and wide for her love of Boston Terriers. She also enjoyed sending cards to people in the community for every occasion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Irene (Bott) Fate.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert, and children Lisa Kay, Steven, and Lori Ruetz. A memorial service will be held at St. Michael's Church on February 2 at 11:00am. Visitation preceding the mass.
In lieu of flowers, she requests contributions to St. Michael's Parish School.
