Brandon Ray Vining's Obituary
Lakeview-Brandon Ray Vining, age 47, of Lakeview passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was born in Big Rapids on September 16, 1975, the son of Gene and Wendy (Lintemuth) Vining. Brandon was raised in Stanwood where he attended Morley Stanwood Community Schools, graduating with the Class of 1994. During high school he was active on the basketball and track teams and held the school record in pole vaulting at 13 feet for 3 years. He continued his education at Grand Rapids Community College earning an associate degree in electronics in 1996. Brandon married his high school sweetheart, Erin VanVlerah at the Stanwood Free Methodist Church on June 14, 1997. He was employed by Universal Magnetics, Progressive Technologies and operated his own sawmill. Brandon and Erin became foster parents in 2000, and have opened their home and hearts to many children. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting which included trips to Colorado for elk and mule deer. He was also a very competitive euchre player, who loved movie quotes and coaching both track and basketball. Brandon was always busy building things but would drop everything to help anyone who needed it, leaving his own projects for last. He was very patient and could communicate with kids in a way that left many lasting impressions. Brandon will be remembered as a good man with big heart who was very proud of his family and loved them all deeply.Brandon will forever be missed and is survived by his wife, Erin; children; Kade, Evan, Elijah and Megan Vining; two bonus sons, JJ and Drew; parents, Gene and Wendy Vining; siblings, Holly (Shane) Inman, Nikki (Scott) Lintemuth, Amanda (Matthew) Johnston, Marlin (Danielle) Vining, Morgan (Bill) Howe; 13 nieces and nephews; 6 great-nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview with Pastor Gary Bondarenko officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, September 6 from 2:00-4:00 PM and from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral chapel.
