Brenda K Ostipow's Obituary
Lakeview-Brenda Kay (Mangus) Ostipow, age 67, of Weidman passed away at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant on March 18, 2019. Brenda was born in Carson City on August 2, 1951, the daughter of Charles and Elsie (Curtis) Mangus. She was raised in Crystal and then Blanchard where she attended Montabella Public Schools. In the summer of 1999 while fishing with her son, David Ostipow met Brenda, and they were married in Mt. Pleasant on December 15, 2000. Over the years Brenda worked as a nurse's aide, a truck driver, as a hunting guide in Grande Cache, Canada, as a custodian for Sheldon Coates Elementary School in Alberta, Canada and most recently as a money counter at Soaring Eagle Casino. She enjoyed painting, playing cards, Yahtzee, board games, video games and bingo. She loved to spend time with her family and her dog "Bear Bear". Brenda had a strong faith in God, and spent time reading her Bible and watching church ministries on TV. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, hunting for morel mushrooms, traveling and was always up for a road trip.
Brenda will be deeply missed and is survived by her husband, David L. Ostipow of Weidman; children, Tracey Lynn (Oren) Diehl of Blanchard, Michael James Cross of Alberta, Canada and Nicole Carol Cross (Earl Grable) of Weidman; grandchildren, Heather and Megan Diehl, Mikala (Sheldon) Braun, Destiny Cross, and Hailee, Marissa and Nathan Grable; great-grandchildren, London, Tucker, and Hayleigh; sister, Madelon "Dolly" (Philip) Marcotte of Blanchard; brother, Basil "Jr." (Ronda) Ervin of Blanchard; several nieces, nephews and friends that she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Mangus and Elsie and Fay Ervin; and her brother, Max Albert Mangus.
Funeral services for Brenda will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Brigham Funeral Chapel Lakeview, with Pastor Buzz Stone officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday, March 21, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral chapel.
