Brian Charles Scott's Obituary
Stanwood, Michigan-Brian Charles Scott, 70, of Stanwood, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He was born on December 8, 1943 in Big Rapids, the son of Richard and Eileen (Bliss) Scott. Brian graduated from Morley-Stanwood High School in 1962. He was employed by Wolverine Worldwide for 43 years, retiring in 2006. Brian was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as spending winters in Florida. Brian is survived by Connie, his wife of 47 years: three sons, Randy (Kim) Scott, Mark (Donna) Scott, and Bradley (Ginger) Scott; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Amber, McKenzie, and Hunter Scott, Joshua Taylor, William Battle Jr., and Tristan Young. Also surviving are one brother, Merrill (Delores) Scott and one sister, Kathleen (Jim) Roszell, plus special cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant twin brother and sister. Funeral services for Brian will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids with Pastor John Bookshaw officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home and from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday prior to service. Interment will follow at Stanwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
