Brian Allen Sellers' Obituary
Brian Allen Sellers, beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 49, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments.
Born on November 17, 1975, to Arthur Sellers and Nona Sellers, Brian grew up with a deep love for the outdoors and an even deeper love for his family. An avid fisherman and hunter, Brian found joy in the woods and on the water, especially fishing with his boys on the St. Mary River. But above all else, he was a devoted father to his four sons and the best partner to his wife, Sara, whom he married on September 8, 2007.
Brian’s life was marked by kindness, humility, and an infectious sense of humor. He was known for his great manners, selfless nature, and constant smile. He loved cooking and often said that preparing a good meal was one of the best ways to show love. A true foodie, he cherished sharing meals and memories with those he cared about.
He was a proud University of Michigan fan, a passionate basketball enthusiast, and a lifelong supporter of the Detroit Lions. Brian loved playing outside with his boys, joking and teasing with friends and family, and sharing random trivia, he always seemed to know a fact about everything. A people person to the core, Brian spent much of his career traveling across the country as a sales representative, selling wood-chippers, forestry equipment and making connections wherever he went.
Even in the face of illness, Brian’s dedication to his family never wavered. He never missed a sporting event for his sons; even after chemo treatments, he showed up, no matter how he felt. He often said his boys picked the best daughters-in-law for him, and he was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandchild, Lucas Sellers, due in May.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Sara Sellers; parents, Arthur Sellers and Nona Sellers; sons, Mitchell and Emily Sellers, Cooper and Megan Sellers, Ethan Sellers, and Mason Sellers; his brother, Scott Sellers; and his soon-to-be grandson, Lucas Sellers.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andy and Rena Merrill and Blane and Ettabelle Sellers; his stepfather, George Jones; his uncle, Dave Pendell; and his mother and father in-law, Charles “Punk” and Yvonne Cornell.
A memorial service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26th, at 1:00 p.m. at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., as well as Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Those wishing to honor Brian’s memory are invited to contribute to Corwell Hospice.
