Bruce Frederick McConnell's Obituary
Edmore- Bruce Frederick McConnell, age 92, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025.Bruce was born on January 12, 1933 in Weidman, to his parents Jesse and Emily (Hines) McConnell. He was raised in the Weidman area, where he attended Weidman school.Bruce was employed by Lobdell Emery in Alma, where he drove a high-low for 31 years before retiring in 1995. On April 1, 1953, Bruce married Hazel Chapman, and the two spent 72 years together. In the same year, he enlisted in the Army and was deployed to Germany before being discharged in 1955.Bruce enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, traveling, playing horseshoes, board games, and watching a good western movie.He will be missed by his wife, Hazel; Children, Sheldon (Julie) McConnell of Elwell, Lynette (David) Schneider of Brethren, Brian (Julie) McConnell of Indiana, Christopher (Joanne) McConnell of Alma; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Emily; children, Larie, Leta, and Stuart.A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 1PM at the M-46 Tabernacle with Pastor Steve Hale officiating. The family will greet guests on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore from 5-7PM.
