Bruce Dale Rose's Obituary
Evart - Bruce D. Rose, 69, of Evart, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at his residence.
He was born April 3, 1953, in Lansing, the son of John A. and Margaret (Beery) Rose, and graduated from Waverly High School in 1972. Bruce then moved to Big Rapids, and attended Ferris State College.
For many years, Bruce and his wife Elaine owned and operated the Wild Rose Cafe in Big Rapids. He loved to decorate for the holidays, turning the restaurant into a "mini Frankenmuth". Bruce was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, and also enjoyed riding his Harley. He was also a member of the Old Country Church in Grant Center.
Bruce is survived by his wife Elaine Sanford; two daughters, Angela Sanford of Rodney and Beth Sanford (Brian Johnson) of Big Rapids; five grandchildren, Alexis (Fiancée Ethan), Logan, Phoenix, Carter, and Gabriel; his brother Ron Rose of Saginaw; sister-in-law Cheryl Rose of Hudsonville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepson Kim Wilmer, brother David Rose, and sister-in-law Sandy Rose.
A Celebration of Bruce's life will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Old Country Church, with Pastor Eric Stadtfeld officiating. Bruce's family will greet friends beginning at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Care and arrangements are entrusted to the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
