Carl George Smith's Obituary
Lakeview-Carl George Smith, age 92, of Entrican passed away at his home on Sunday, May 15, 2022. He was born on May 13, 1930, in Stanton, the son of Grover and Gladys (Gordon) Smith. Carl was raised in the Stanton area where he attended school. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1953. Carl graduated from the Central Montcalm Adult Education program in 1974 with his wife, Sandra. They were married on July 10, 1954, in Stanton and spent 66 years together before her passing in 2020. He was employed by Crooks Farm Power in Edmore as a mechanic for over 22 years, retiring in 1995. Carl was a member of the Entrican Bible Church and enjoyed working on tractors in his spare time.
Carl is survived by his children Sheila (Harold Haight) Smith of Greenville, Carl R. (Teresa) Smith of Greenville, Curtis (Tracy) Smith of Ravenna; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Maudene) Smith of Portland; sisters, Alena Kimball of Stanton, and Joanne (Lewis) Neilsen of Stanton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Austin) Smith; and daughter, Shari Smith.
A joint graveside service for Carl and Sandra will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Hillside Cemetery in Entrican.
