Carolyn Rose Hoover-VanAtta's Obituary
Edmore- Carolyn Rose Hoover-VanAtta, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2025, surrounded by family at her son's home in Vestaburg. Carolyn was born in Mt. Pleasant on February 1, 1947, to father, Clyde J Bywater and mother, Lena. She grew up in Blanchard attending school there as well. Carolyn worked in the manufacturing industry as a line worker, retiring in 2012 after 20 plus years at Mitsuba. In July of 1969, Glenn Hoover married Carolyn. Together they raised their family and enjoyed many years until Glenn passed in 2003. Carolyn was the grandma who showed up for her grandkids to shower them in love and support. She had two cats, Lucy and Whoppi whom she adored. Memories of Carolyn will be lingering in things like lemon lime cakes, old country music, and debates about current events. She made many friends as a diamond player at Soaring Eagle Casino, attending many dinners, concerts, and events over the years.Carolyn will be missed greatly by her sons Rodney (Darlene) Hoover, Mathew (Anna) Hoover; stepdaughters Traci (Rick) Foster, Kim Palmer; grandchildren Bethany, David, Daniel, Michael, Timothy, Jennifer, Tara, Lindsey, Whitney, Mallory, Chelsey, Amanda, Lindsay, Stephanie, Jason; 23 great-grandchildren; brother Ronald Broughton; and many nieces and nephews.Preceding Carolyn in death are her parents Clyde and Lena; first husband Glenn Hoover; second husband Marcus VanAtta; her son Clyde Hoover; and siblings Janet, Rose, Juanita & Floyd, Fred, Marilyn, and Madeline.A celebration of Carolyn's life will take place at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. Family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
