Charles G. Miller's Obituary
Big Rapids - Charles G. Miller, 77, of Big Rapids, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Altercare of Big Rapids.
He was born June 8, 1941, in Big Rapids, the son of Gordon R. and Murna A. (Drager) Miller, and graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1959. For nearly 40 years, Charlie owned and operated Big Rapids Barber Shop in downtown Big Rapids.
Charlie was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He was a Volunteer for the Big Rapids Fire Department for many years, and also served on the Mecosta County Fair Board.
In 1961, he married Jackie Baker, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Michelle Schuberg of Big Rapids, and Melanie (Mike) Hulst of Holland; 1 son Michael (Linda) Miller of Rodney; 5 grandchildren, Matthew (Haley) Hulst, Morgan (Zach) VandenBerg, Emalie Schuberg, Charles and Alice Miller; his sister Ruth Ann (Huey) Rose of Rodney; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Funeral services for Charles will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Big Rapids, with Rev. Jonathon Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland View Cemetery. Charlie's family will greet friends on Friday, June 29, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
