Charles Alfred Sherman's Obituary
Charles Alfred Sherman, age 76, of Lakeview, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 27, 2018. Charles was born on September 23, 1941 in Lakeview, the son of Raymond and Flora (Johnson) Sherman. He was raised on the family farm on Townline Lake in Lakeview. He attended Lakeview Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1959. Charles joined the Navy after graduation and served his country honorably for 20 years. During that time he completed 7 tours in Vietnam. Charles attended the Navy Knesepct Program at Perdue University for electronics. On March 27, 1965 he married Carol Sue Smith at the Methodist Church in Howard City. After his retirement from the Navy, Charles was employed by Steelcase as an electrician for 28 years. He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, gardening, motorcycles and listening to music.
Charles is survived by and will be missed by his wife of 53 years, Carol Sherman of Lakeview; his children, Carl (Julia) Sherman of White Cloud, Cheryl Lamb of White Cloud; grand children, Katheryn "Katie", Anna, Jeannie, Jeramy, Gary, Ashley and Amber; 3 sisters, Arlene Davis, Nora Sharp, and Dona (Michael) Toth; 2 brothers Joel and Terry Sherman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Flora Sherman; four sisters Geanette Rickman, Beverly Abbott, Susan Rainer, and Joyce Schuttey.
