Charlie Paul Hansen's Obituary
Canon City, Colorado-Charlie Paul Hansen, 67, of Canon City, Colorado, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, January 4th 2014. Charlie was born March 11, 1946 to Charles and Jessie Hansen. He was raised in Woodville, Michigan with his two sisters, Joan and Judy as well as a brother, Jimmie. Upon graduating from high school, Charlie joined the Marine Corps. He was proud to be a Marine and served two tours in Vietnam. Upon his return, Charlie settled down to raise five children, Margaret, Bill, Monica, Myra, and Wayne. Charlie had a tremendous love for God, his children and his country. He enjoyed bowling and sharing God's love with everyone he met. Charlie is survived by his children, Margaret Hansen, Bill Stevens, Monica Stevens, Myra (Sammy) Smallwood, and Wayne (Natalie) Hansen all of Canon City, Colorado; two sisters, Joan (Dick Beltz) Dutkiewicz of Kentwood and Judy (Ed) Brynes of Rodney; sister-in-law Susan Hansen of Ludington; fourteen grandchildren, Christa, Joshua, Jeremiah, and Becca Hansen, Heather and Mathew Stevens, Justin, Victoria, Stephen, Cano, Hunter, and Taylor Smallwood, and Alyssa, Jimmy, and Zarien Hansen; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Steven Hansen, Perry, Gail, and David Fulmerhouser, and Kathy, Maria, John, and Marty Brynes. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jessie Hansen, his brother Jimmie Hansen, and his granddaughter Tia Cano. A memorial service will be held at the Christian Family Fellowship for all of his friends and family in Colorado. A funeral for Charlie will be held in the spring at Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids. Burial will take place at the Woodville Cemetery.
