Cheryl Lee Hennessy's Obituary
Lakeview- Cheryl Lee Hennessy, age 78, of Six Lakes, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at her home on Horseshoe Lake. Cheryl was born on May 20, 1945, to her parents Chester and Arleen (Gordon) Patterson. She was raised in Lansing, Michigan, where she attended and graduated from Eastern High School. Cheryl then went on to further her education at Grand Rapids Community College, graduating with an associate degree in business. She became a city bus driver for Grand Rapids, where she worked for 25 years before retiring in 2016. On February 14, 1988, Cheryl married her husband, Micheal J Hennessy in Ada, Michigan. They were married for 34 years before his passing in 2021. She had many hobbies, such as baking, sewing, playing euchre, Yahtzee, and socializing with her friends and neighbors. She was a member of New Beginnings church and the ATU. Cheryl will be greatly missed by her daughter, Michelle Turner; stepchildren, Kim McGuire, Kevin (Ashley) Hennessy, Dawn Tice and their families; granddaughter, Corinne VanStedum; and great-grandson, Hayden Woodward. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael; her parents, Chester and Arleen; and her son, Shane Smith. A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at New Beginnings Church, with Pastor Aaron Hadley officiating. Interment has taken place in the City of Dewitt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cheryl's memory can be made to New Beginnings Church, 1154 W. Fleck Rd., Six Lakes, MI 48886.
