Christopher Allyn Book's Obituary
Holland - Christopher Allyn Book, 38, of Holland, passed away at his home July 23, 2021, after an almost two-and-a-half-year battle with Leiomyosarcoma.
He was born April 2, 1983, in Davenport, Iowa. Chris was a graduate of Grand Valley State University and Illinois Central College and was a server at several restaurants in Holland.
Chris had a love of politics, the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, music, and Fantasy Baseball and Football, the latter of which there is now "The Skip Cup."
During his battle with cancer, he started a new Holland Informed FB page of which he was administrator. He believed, "that being knowledgeable in our areas of interest in our community makes us better citizens."
Chris registered as a Baha'i on April 10, 2021, but considered himself a Baha'i well before that, attending Sunday morning Zoom devotionals with a group from the Khalousi Center during Covid.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Zimmer-Book; his parents Tony and Betty DelaRosa; his brother James Corder; his sister Michelle DelaRosa; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kathy and Pete Pickard; his niece Kahri Rae Corder; his nephews Robert, Hunter, and Blake Pickard; and cats Yadi and Payton. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents Leonard and Elaine Neuhaus.
