Clara Lee Nestle's Obituary
Lakeview-Clara Lee (Ellafrits) Nestle, age 86, of Lakeview passed away on May 30, 2019 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital with her family by her side. Clara was born in Lakeview on May 6, 1933, the daughter of Grant and Francis "Genevieve" (Engerson) Ellafrits. She was raised in Lakeview and attended school there. Clara worked for several doctors for over 30 years, by caring for their children and cleaning their homes. She met Edward "Cork" Nestle at a dance in Winn. They were married on October 4, 1951 in St. Louis. They settled in Lansing and Clara lived in the same little house there for 65 years. She enjoyed shopping, picnics with the family, going to the cabin near Indian River and she loved listening to music, singing and her cats. Not to mention, ICE CREAM or any sweet! She attended Lakeview Community Church.
Clara is survived by many nieces and nephews, her 3 grand daughters, Rebecca Nestle, Kristen "DeeDee" Hallman (husband Richard), Sheri Tomczak (husband Mark); as well as her 4 great-grandchildren, Ruth Anne, Claire Louise, Grace Jeanette, and Grant Charles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Cork" Nestle; her son, Roger Nestle; her parents Grant and Genevieve Ellafrits, and her 3 sisters, Joyce Ann Bowen, Bonita "Bonni" Rae Hicks, and Kay Francis Brown.
A celebration of Clara's life will take place on August, 17, 2019 at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Lakeview, Michigan with Visitation at 4:00pm, Service at 5:00pm and a Fellowship and food service immediately following.
