Clare Nettie Portale's Obituary
Clare Nettie Portale, of Lakeview, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Frank Martin Petroski and Natalie Mary Petroski.
On November 2, 1963, Clare married the love of her life, Keith Portale. They shared nearly 62 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, devotion, and family.
Clare was a devout Catholic and an active member of her church. She served as a Eucharistic minister and volunteered with Angela Hospice, offering comfort and care to those in need. She also found joy and peace in crocheting and knitting, sharing her handmade creations with loved ones.
Clare is survived by her husband of 62 years, Keith Portale; her son Robert (Joanie) Portale; her daughter Cheryl (John) Sibole; and her sister Josephine Berry. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Amanda Watkins, Anthony Watkins, Sarah Sibole, Leah (Justin) Portale-Gomez, Angelo Portale, Gina Portale, and Nicholas (Annie) Portale; as well as her cherished great-grandchildren: Samuel, Luke, Noah, Clara, Aubrey, Autumn, Avander, and Liliana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Natalie; her brother Frank Petroski; and her sister Anna Allen.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, receiving family and friends one hour prior to service. Father Michael Alber as Celebrant.
