Claude Edward Page's Obituary
In Loving Memory - Claude E. Page - Paris
Claude E. Page, 95, lifetime resident of Paris, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Meceola Currie Comfort Home in Reed City.
He was born April 28, 1929, in Paris, the son of Claud and Helen (Kailing) Page and lived on his family homestead in Green Township his entire life. Claude graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1947. On February 7, 1948, he married Dolores M. Rose, who preceded him in death on December 11, 2010.
Claude spent his career as a truck driver and drove many years for Central Transport. He was a life member of the Big Rapids Eagles Aerie #2535, and the Reed City Moose Lodge #705. Claude bowled for the A & W Team on Thursday nights in Big Rapids for many years until the age of 92, but his greater accomplishment was being a 35-year cancer survivor!
Claude is survived by his children, Robert (Sue) of Jenison, Jack (Vivian) of Paris, William of Paris, Richard (Victoria) of Ludington, Claudia (Bill) Johnson of Paris; David (Angela) of Paris, Michael (Linda) of Paris, and Joe (Sandy) of Howard City; 16 grandchildren; his sisters Mary Morse of Morley and Margaret Jager of Comstock Park; his brother Ora (Janice) Page of Coleman; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Claude was also preceded in death by three sons, John, Tom, and Jimmy, and his sister Barbara Lodholtz.
A private family burial will take place in the St. Anne’s Cemetery near Paris, where Claude’s remains will be laid to rest with his other family members. A celebration of his life will take place at the Big Rapids Eagles Lodge, to be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in his name may be made for the Meceola Currie Comfort Home, or Hospice of Michigan. Share a memory or express condolences at mohnkefuneralhome.com.
