Claudia J. Nichols' Obituary
Evart- Claudia J. Nichols, 70, of Evart, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 21, 1947 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Lt. Colonel Mark and Elizabeth (Osmun) Kuhn. As an Army Brat, she traveled the world, and graduated from Kubasaki High School in Okinawa, Japan. Claudia has lived in Northern Michigan for many years, first in Newaygo and Big Rapids, and more recently in Osceola County. In her younger years. she worked as a hairstylist. She volunteered, and then became director of Eagles Nest Drop-In in Reed City. Claudia was also a member of the Reed Church of the Nazarene. She loved to knit and crochet, and enjoyed crafts, puzzles, and playing cards. Claudia is survived by one son, Michael Christopher-Lin (Elizabeth) Kuhn of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter, Cricket-Marie Elizabeth (Justin) Keathley of Evart; nine grandchildren, Michael, Dante, Raven, Xander, Evangeline, Sterling, Bowie, Lexie and Dylan; two brothers, Michael Dean (Lola) Kuhn of Newaygo, Christopher (Debbie) Kuhn of Grand Rapids; one sister Marcia Kuhn of Bailey; her aunt, Naida Koopmans of Whitehall; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Trinity, an infant granddaughter Lacie, and her best friend and soulmate Midge LaGrow. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids, with Pastor Chris DeMott officiating. Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery. Claudia's family will greet friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday until time of services.
